First and foremost, adhering to our completely cruelty free and vegan friendly mission, we always wholeheartedly support animal based charities. One of the reasons Starship Salon was started just under three years ago was to contribute to making the world a better place for the animals with our focus on cruelty free and vegan friendly beauty products and services. Therefore, we emphatically seek to be a part of charities like ALIVE Rescue! If you aren’t familiar with ALIVE Rescue, they are a wonderful not for profit, no kill animal shelter in the Roscoe Village neighborhood of Chicago. Here is their mission statement, which aligns perfectly with the Starship Salon philosophy:
ALIVE Rescue is an Animal Rescue that protects the lives and the welfare of animals. We believe every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health and/or breed. ALIVE Rescue promotes sustainable living and care-giving within our communities by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment.
As if this mission and their continuous contributions to animal welfare weren’t enough for us, we here at Starship Salon specialize in curating and contributing to events! Our owner, Trisha Star, has over seventeen years of experience in working in events. Trisha has been a part of events for such prestigious clients as MTV, MLB and Rolling Stone! We’re always looking for ways to incorporate our specialized expertise in events with like minded organizations and businesses here in Chicago and throughout the country. Naturally, Grrrl’s Night Out was a perfect fit!
Finally, we always love to support other small businesses here in Chicago! Grrrl’s Night Out will be hosted over at G Boutique, a lovely independently owned boutique lingerie store in the bustling Bucktown neighborhood at 2131 North Damen Avenue. G Boutique’s mission is simple, yet profound: “to help women feel good about themselves.” Great minds think alike! We want all of our clients to feel wonderful and confident and so this is a marriage made in heaven!
